Notary Public Fees
The state of California sets the maximum notary fees. It means a notary public in California cannot charge you more than the state-set sum to get your will, affidavit, trust, car title, or any other legal document notarized. Mobile notaries can charge additional fees for their gas, time, travel, waiting, parking, document printing, or other notary-related expenses.

- $15 Per signature notarized(multiple signature discounts available).
- After hours signing (11 pm – 8 am) – $20.00 – $40.00 service fee

- $100 – $250 – 1st set of loan documents (purchase, refinance, etc.)
- Certifying a Copy Power of Attorney – $15 for each copy
- Deposition – $30 for each deposition
- Jurat – $15 for each signature
- Acknowledgment – $15 for each signature

CA law allows notaries to only certify copies of Power of Attorney and notarial journal entries. Any other document requiring certification must be notarized using Copy Certification by Document Custodian.

All notarization in the state of California is subject to the California Government Code Section 8211. The California notary code permits notaries to levy less than $15 for each notarized signature and an additional travel fee. The travel fee is not regulated and must be disclosed separately. Additional costs such as filing, faxing, printing, recording or postage are due at time of service.
